Michael Miligkos is a Pediatrician and Academic Fellow at the Department of Allergy of the 2nd Pediatric Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. As of 2023, he serves on the Pediatric Asthma Committee of the World Allergy Organization. He received his medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed his specialty training in Pediatrics at the “Aghia Sofia” Children’s Hospital in Athens. He holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Translational Science from Tufts University and a PhD in Comparative Effectiveness Research from the University of Thessaly. As an Academic Fellow at the Laboratory of Biomathematics of the University of Thessaly, he has taught Biostatistics to medical students and Study Design, Biostatistics and Principles of Evidence Based Medicine to graduate students. He has also served as Coordinator of the Pediatrics Working Group at the Society of Junior Doctors, training and supervising medical students in scientific paper writing. Finally, he has worked as a Medical Advisor at a Contract Research Organization, where he gained hands-on experience in the preparation and conduct of Phase III & IV clinical trials.


He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers in international medical journals (1000 citations, h-index = 19, according to Google Scholar). 

His primary research interest lies in the systematic synthesis and methodological assessment of the available evidence regarding patients with chronic inflammatory diseases, especially of the respiratory system. Currently, as a member of the Pediatric Asthma in Real Life Think Tank, he works on the systematic assessment of the efficacy and safety of various treatments and the utility of non-invasive biomarkers on the long-term outcomes of childhood asthma, in order to inform clinical practice.https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=Miligkos+M&size=200Miligkos M – Search Results – PubMed (nih.gov)
