Elvira Efstathiou is a paediatrician and PhD candidate at the Allergy Unit of the 2nd Department of Paediatrics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a full member of the Hellenic Paediatric Allergy Society, the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI) and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
She completed her specialty training in Paediatrics at the 1st University Department of Paediatrics, Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at “Aghia Sophia” Children’s Hospital. She subsequently undertook further clinical training and worked as a senior clinical fellow in paediatric hospitals in London, United Kingdom. Specifically, she has worked at Evelina London Children’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine. She is now working at King’s College Hospital in London as a Paediatric Allergy Consultant.
She graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is also an alumna of Athens College. She has completed a number of professional certifications, including the GIN-McMaster Guideline Panel Member Certification Level 1 (McMaster University, Ontario, Canada), Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS), and Safeguarding Children and Young People Level 3.She has participated in numerous national and international conferences with oral and poster presentations and is the author of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
She is also part of the PeARL (Pediatric Asthma in Real Life) think tank, led by Professor Nikolaos Papadopoulos, which investigates the role of biomarkers in predicting the prognosis of childhood asthma.
