A detailed allergic medical history is the basis and prerequisite for a correct diagnosis. In most cases, however, special diagnostic approaches are needed to confirm the clinical suspicion, separate conflicting data, determine the prognosis of the disease and contribute to the best therapeutic management. These tools at the disposal of the allergist are described in the following section.
