Eleni Maria Papatesta is a pediatrician and is currently working as a Research Fellow at Allergology and Clinical Immunology Unit of the Second Pediatric Clinic of the University of Athens. She graduated from the Department of Medicine of the University of Ioannina, in 2009. In 2010, she worked as a rural physician at the General Hospital of Syros and the Health center of Andros island.

She worked as a resident in Pediatrics at the Neonatal Department of Aretaieio Hospital, NKUA and at the Second Department of Pediatrics, NKUA in P&A.Kyriakou Childrens Hospital and was awarded her Specialty degree in Pediatrics in 2020. She received a MSc in Pediatric Infectious Diseases from NKUA in 2020. 


She successfully completed the "Childhood Obesity" course of the E-learning center of NKUA. Also in the context of continuous education, she successfully completed the courses "Immunology" and "The Health Effects of Climate Change" from Harvard Medical School (HMX fundamentals and HarvardX online programs). 

She has worked as a Research Investigator in several research studies (HYDRIA, EPIC, PED-MERMAIDS). Currently, she participates in the SynAir-G study, which is about the impact of synergies of indoor air pollutants on childhood health and wellbeing.

She is a NLS (Newborn Life Support) and EPALS (European Paediatric Advanced Life Support) instructor of the European Resuscitation Council. 

She has 16 publications in international scientific journals and numerous presentations at international conferences.

 In 2021, she received best e-poster award in the viral respiratory category at the ESPID 2021 conference.
