Η Μαρία Κρητικού είναι πτυχιούχος του τμήματος Επισκεπτών Υγείας της Σχολής Επαγγελμάτων Υγείας και Πρόνοιας του ΑΤΕΙ Αθηνών και κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού διπλώματος της Αγωγής και Προαγωγής Υγείας, από την Ιατρική Σχολή του ΕΚΠΑ ενώ είναι επίσης Υποψήφια Διδάκτορας στη Μονάδα Αλλεργιολογίας Παίδων. Since March 2018, she is a research associate of the Allergology and Clinical Immunology Unit, where she works as a researcher. She is involved in the European study CURE (Constructing a 'Eubiosis Reinstatement Therapy' for Asthma) whose main objective is the use of bacteriophage therapy (phages) to restore the microbial balance in asthma and the SynAir-G study which concerns the synergistic effect of indoor pollutants and viruses/microbes and the health of school children.
She has been participating for more than 10 years in European and National research programs (CURE, EPIC, CHANCES, HYDRIA) and interventions about nutrition and health behavioral changes. She has 14 publications in international scientific journals and announcements/abstracts in Greek and international conferences.
