Styliana Vasileiadou is a pediatrician subspecialized in Pediatric Allergology working as a consultant and postdoc researcher in the Allergy Department of Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital - Sahlgrenska University, Gothenburg, Sweden. Moreover, she has been an associate specialist with clinical and research work at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit of the 2nd Pediatric Clinic, University of Athens, since October 2023. In June 2025 she defended successfully her PhD thesis on ‘’Allergic rhinitis in childhood and young adulthood: Epidemiology, prevalence and risk factors’’ at Sahlgrenska Academy, Gothenburg University.
She graduated from the Medical School of Ioannina University in 2010. Thereafter, she attended the ICU of “HYGEIA” Hospital and worked as a primary care physician in General Hospital of Sparta, Health Center of Areopolis, and Bergsjön Clinic, Sweden.
During her five-year specialty training in Pediatrics in Sweden (2013-2018), she worked in Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Borås, and Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital - Sahlgrenska University, Gothenburg. After being certified as pediatrician, alongside with her PhD engagement she qualified for the national three-year subspecialization program in Pediatric Allergology in the Allergy Department in Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital. She became a certified pediatric allergist in 2022 and has since been working as a consultant in this department.
She is an active member of the greek ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) team and a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). She has participated as a speaker in national Pediatric Allergy conferences, while she has numerous presentations in international conferences such as PAAM, EAACI and ERS.
Furthermore, she has published her work in high impact journals (Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, Acta Paediatrica, PLOS ONE). Finally, she has received honorary scholarships from the Swedish Pediatric Association and the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association.
