Paraskevi Maggina was born in Athens. She graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2004 with excellent performance. She served as a rural service physician at the General Hospital of Kythira from 2004 to 2006.
From 2007 to 2014, she worked as a Doctoral Research Associate at the Research Laboratories of the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit of the Second Department of Pediatrics at the University of Athens. In 2014, she completed her PhD at the Second Department of Pediatrics of the University of Athens with a thesis entitled:“Study of the immune response in bronchiolitis and its correlation with microbial factors and asthma in early childhood.”
She completed her residency in General Pediatrics at the First Department of Pediatrics of the “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital in 2012. As part of her pediatric specialization, she also received training at the Department of Clinical Immunology, Infectious Diseases & Bone Marrow Transplantation of the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, UK, focusing on Primary Immunodeficiencies in children.
She continued to work as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit of the Second Department of Pediatrics of the University of Athens, participating in both research and clinical protocols, while also receiving clinical training in Pediatric Allergy. Since 2025, she holds the position of Lecturer in Pediatric Allergy at the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Unit of the Second Department of Pediatrics at the University of Athens.
Since 2016, she has served as a Pediatric Consultant in the First Pediatric Department and, since 2019, as a Consultant in the Allergy Department at IASO Children’s Hospital.
She is a member of numerous scientific societies and committees and has many publications in reputable international scientific journals, as well as numerous presentations and lectures at medical conferences.
