Oikonomidou Anna is a Bioinformatician with a special interest in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analyses. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Biology Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2022 and at this moment she is finishing up her master’s degree titled “Bioinformatics – Computational Biology” at the same department.
She has conducted an experimental undergraduate thesis at the Section of Cell Biology and Biophysics titled “Inhibition studies of protein-derived peptide-analogues on Aβ peptide aggregation” which was presented in the form of an e-Poster at the Conference of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (HSBMB).
Currently she is in the process of completing her Master’s thesis at the Biomedical Sciences Research Center “Alexander Fleming” (Alexander Fleming BSRC) as a member of the Computational Genomics Group (GC2 group), με τίτλο «Gene properties related to radial positioning in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, she utilizes algorithmic and biostatistical methods to study the yeast genome at the three-dimensional level.
In November 2024 she started working at our Department where by conducting bioinformatics analyses she studies the interactions between the bacteriome and the phageome in patients suffering from asthma.
