Professor Nikos Papadopoulos at the 7th Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health
In the context of the 7th Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health of the World Health Organization that will take place in Budapest from 5 to 7 July 2023, Professor Nikos Papadopoulos, head of the Allergy Department of the Second Pediatric Clinic of Athens, will participate as a speaker at a parallel session about he contribution of pan-European research collaboration to evidencebased zero pollution and health policy
The EU Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) has partnered with the EU Commission’s DG Environment, the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) to organize a parallel session during the 7th WHO Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health, taking place on Thursday 6th July at 13:00-14:15 CET..
More than 20 ongoing research projects – supported with an EU contribution of over €150 million and involving more than 300 research groups – are tackling the impacts of urban indoor and outdoor pollution, air quality, chemical exposures and micro and nanoplastics on human health. A panel moderated by HEAL will showcase the outcomes of four large-scale collaborative initiatives – the European Urban Health Cluster, European Cluster on Health Impacts of Micro- and Nanoplastics, Green Deal Health Cluster and Indoor Air Quality Cluster – and their potential to inform policy implementation measures.
